Dear Sir/Madam,
The Organizing Committee of ICM 2014 hereby calls for proposals from interested publishers for the publication of the Proceedings of the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) 2014.
Ever since the first ICM took place in Zürich in 1897, the ICMs have been one of the major driving forces in the development of modern mathematics and its steady growth in terms of the size and numbers of participants has been well-recognized, showing impressive impact upon the international society. The 27th ICM is scheduled to be convened in Seoul, Korea from August 13 to 21, 2014. It is anticipated that over 5,000 participants from all over the world would partake in the Congress and in particular, the International Mathematical Union (IMU) Prizes including Fields Medal shall be awarded by the President of Korea at the opening ceremony.
In commemoration of each gathering, proceedings have been published accordingly and these published proceedings have always been valued by involved parties including individuals, universities, institutes and societies. The ICM 2014 proceedings shall be published in four volumes with articles anchored in plenary lectures, sectional invited lectures, the Abel and Noether lectures as well as lectures delivered by the Fields Medal, the Nevanlinna, the Gauss and the Chern Prizes awardees. The first volume, in particular, shall enclose speeches at the opening and closing ceremonies and other highlights observed in and around the Congress. It is anticipated that published proceedings of the ICM 2014 would be distributed to the university libraries in the world and its soft copy would be shared with all registered participants of the Congress.
